A True Review On Trying Something New-Skin Care With Merlette

As I am starting to get older, I have begun to pay more attention to my skincare routine.
I honestly never put much thought into it before. I would buy face cleansers that were on sale or just appealing.
I had absolutely no knowledge of what worked for my skin, or what my skin type even was. I would continue on to experiment and learn more about what worked and didn’t work for the majority of my 20’s but as the last couple years of these magnificent years,
I have been starting to notice small signs of aging and  It was extremely alarming for me, and slightly eating up at my insecurities, along with the unclear complexion as well, I knew it was time to take a much more serious approach to my skin care.

I lived a lot of my life unhealthy, I stopped being a kid at a young age, and sought ways to grow up fast,
I started hanging out with the “wrong crowd” and making bad decisions (which only morphed me into the person I am today)
I did not have a diet, at times I barely ate, drank a lot of alcohol, which is extremely dehydrating to your body and skin.
And when I did eat, chances are it was large amounts of sugar I don’t even want to think of, and just truly abused my body.
Getting older this really started to show and I immediately sought out for something to help it.
At the end of the day, our skin is an extremely important part of our body, it is the body’s biggest organ, and acts as a barrier against infections. And also when kept healthy, fights off signs of aging, so I’m all in.

With discovering the lack of hydration in my skin, I have decided to really focus on gaining that back, eating healthy as much as I can ( slipping a little too often) and drinking lots of water!! Water is so crucial!
Somedays I definitely don’t drink enough because later on, or the next day I can feel and see it on my skin!

I wanted to find something that was gentle, natural, and chemical free. One thing about the drug store products is they all contain SO much chemical or alcohol, only leaving my face dehydrated or dry, making it easier for the signs of aging to appear.

Recently I found a Vancouver based company, Merlette, through Instagram and was intrigued.
I took some time and studied their website and the more I read, the more eager I was to try all the products.
I reached out to the company and expressed my interests and was privileged to meet with a lovely lady from the company to learn more about the people behind the company and the passion they put into their company.
I learned that they where a group of friends and soulmates, who packed up everything and moved from their home country to Canada, Living a whole different life than back home, spending time studying natural skincare and a natural artist on hand, they where able to create their brand Merlette and introduce their handcrafted skincare to the world !

I have been using the following products now for 4 weeks consistently and have so far noticed an improvement in the health, hydration and overall glow of my skin.
As I still have ways to go in the goals I have to the recovery to healthy skin, I feel confident in this company and that their products will help me achieve such goals.


The White Clay Exfoliating Mask & Scrub
Ingredients: White kaolin clay, Rosehip extract, Jojoba Beads, Arrowroot powder

Benefits Of Kaolin Clay: It has natural absorbency properties so it reduces oily skin, Also cleanses out the pores and prevents them from clogging up and causing breakouts, exfoliates and detoxifies your skin getting rid of dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft and smooth!

Benefits Of Jojoba Seed Oil: Its rich in Vitamin E, contains proteins, minerals, and myristic acid, which is an anti-inflammatory agent.The oil also easily absorbs into the skin, so it regulates and removes the sebum layer.It Also Is A Great for moisturizing the face.

Benefits Of Argan Oil: its full of rich an antioxidants and vitamin e and omega 6 fatty acids, helping to minimize the look of fine lines, and maintaining a youthful glow.It adds natural moisture to the face and helps clean up mild acne!

Benefits Of Meadowfoam Oil: Similar properties to the jojoba seed oil, Its high in antioxidants which effectively lock in moisture, It also penetrates deep into the skin, helping fight signs against aging and reducing wrinkles.

Benefits Of Coenzyme Q10: As it is naturally in our body, but we start to lose some as we age, it naturally adds this back into the skin and fights and slows down the signs of aging and working as a natural moisturizer as well.

 Benefits Of Rose Absolute Essential Oil: It Can be used for Many things but for skin care, its amazing for adding additional moisture, with making the look of aging disappear, with removing scarring and tightening and toning the skin reducing wrinkles.

 Benefits Of Helichrysum (Immortelle) Essential Oil: It helps towards reducing dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines.It fights against age spots and discolorations, contains moisturizing properties preventing dryness, And is great for anti-aging, helping firm the skin leaving it extra vibrant.

Over the month now that I have been using these products, I have absolutely fallen in  love with them, and have definitely started to notice the benefits of each product in my skin, and as I still have a bit to go, I definitely trust that I can get there with these few products and a few others I have my eyes on !
Whats amazing as well is these are all natural ingredients that have so many more amazing benefits as well!

 

A Daily routine for me includes:

Washing my face, which soon I will be using the Merlette Lavender Cleanser,at the time they where sold out,
But for the time being, I have just been using something from Neutrogena.

After washing my face I would spritz a few pumps of the toner all around and rub in to dry,

After doing so I will prepare myself a Clay Mask, using 1.2 tsp and a few drops of water and scrub into my face leaving to dry for about 10 minutes.
After washing with warm water my face immediately feels recovered from dehydration and feels so silky smooth and appears to have a more natural glow.

What I love about the Clay mask as well, is unlike other masks I have used in the past it does not itch when it drys!

After washing off I will spritz again with some toner and let dry on my face, I am in love with this Toner and don’t think I will ever use another one again!

It smells so refreshing and immediately soothes the skin, It drys without leaving a sticky residue and leaves your skin feeling nice and tightened and hydrated!

After the Toner drys, I apply the Neroli Serum, which immediately feels amazing!
It literally feels like when you have not drunk enough water and you have a nice crisp glass, that amazing refreshing feel,but all over your skin, I have actually used more than I probably have should in the amount of time I have had it but it seriously smells and feels amazing on my skin, I’m left with my skin feeling hydrated and healthy.

After the neroli cream, I will apply the Facial Serum over top and allow to sink in before applying any makeup or heading off to bed.
It has a very lovely rose scent and immediately leaves you feeling relaxed!
it is used with an essential oil and some have found that its lead to more breakouts than normal, but I have not witnessed this and have actually found that it has reduced breakouts for me, along with reducing the look of acne scarring from the past and the look of some unwanted lines under my eyes.

I always wake up feeling refreshed and have noticed a better complexion on my skin in the short time that I have been using these products.
My skin doesn’t look as tired and”weathered” which I was starting to feel was developing, My face feels like it has more elasticity to it but at the same time feeling more firm and tightened.
The baggage under my eyes are still being worked on but with the mixture of all these beneficial ingredients it has definitely improved, The few wrinkles developing under my eye are in better conditions and almost disappearing!
I feel like I have young youthful skin, which again, aways to go to the complete clear skin I thrive to have, Like I said before, I feel confident that these products will be beneficial for me and will give me what I am looking for!
